Beca Escobedo.

Hi, my name is Rebeca Escobedo, but everyone calls me Beca. I was born in Nochistlan,Zacatecas, Mexico, and migrated to the Central Valley when I was 4 years old. I’m amultimedia artist, who mostly works with acrylics and fabric. For this current series ofwork, I chose to create fabric tiles inspired by the “azulejos de talavera” found acrossdifferent regions of Mexico. These tiles resonate with me because of the bright colorsthat remind me of my childhood and the memories of visiting home every summer.
